Skincare On Trial

Over the past couple of months, I've been picking up odd skincare products, as most of them are either running out, have run out or I didn't have anything for the job in the first place. As I've been gradually adding them into my routine I thought it would be a good time to let you know my thoughts so far.
Skincare On Trial Including Simple, Superdrug, Quick Fix and NuSkin
Superdrug Vitamin E Micellar Water £2.99
There was a phase when everyone was speaking so highly of Superdrug's Vitamin E own range, and since my micellar water was almost finished I thought this was the ideal time to try something out. So far I've been fairly impressed by this micellar water, considering the price, I'm quite content, bar the fact that the lid can leak. It removes the majority of my makeup with a couple of cotton pads, whilst leaving my skin feeling smooth and tight. There is a slight scent to this water but I'm quite partial to it but those with sensitive skins may be wary.

Quick Fix Facials Mega Moisture Gel Mask £4.99
I've been on the hunt for a good mask which will help my skin for ages, but the issue is I didn't want to spend over £10, so I settled for this one. With the word gel in the name, I assumed that this would be a gel mask, but apparently not as it's a cream. Being a little upset that it was a cream, I slathered it all over my face to create a thick layer like advised and left it on for a while. When this mask dries you can feel it creating a layer on top of your skin like a film, it feels really tight and dry, not ideal, but once the mask goes clear you know the nutrients have absorbed. It's simple to remove and make my skin feel instantly smooth, plumper and hydrated, I wouldn't say it mega hydrates just yet.

Simple Kind To Skin Illuminating Radiance Cream £8.99
I picked this one up when it was on a better than half price offer, which seemed a too fantastic deal to leave. I really like the packaging and design of this cream, it's very simple but it has a wonderful silver pump. When you begin to blend the cream onto your skin you begin so notice gold speckled particles appearing on the surface of the skin, this is the illuminating touch. I thought it would be more of a glow from within radiance if you know what I mean. Nonetheless, it sinks into the skin well and it acts as a nice base for primer and foundation to go on top of; it can be used alone if you want to look like a disco ball.

Simple Kind To Skin Soothing Facial Scrub £3.49
I wasn't too impressed by my last exfoliating wash I thought I'd give this one a go. This scrub has very fine rice granules, which are the exfoliator within the scrub, meaning the scrub is gentle on the skin. There are other vitamins within the scrub which help to soften, smooth and moisturise the skin as well but I can only notice my skin feeling smoother after each use. However, the scent of this is horrendous, considering this is meant to be for sensitive skins, I literally have to hold my breath when using it as it's that bad. It smells of hair dye, not a pleasant scent at all when you're just trying to give your face a good scrub.

Nuskin Epoch Everglide Shaving Gel £15.19
I've never really used a shaving gel before, I always tend to stick to a bar of soap and off I go but since I bought this one I know which option I prefer. I didn't know what to expect when I first pumped some of this into my hands, however, it didn't stop. The foamy gel just continued to come out of the pump, without being pressed and carried on sliding down the side of the bottle. Number one annoyance of this product. As I began to use it, after having ten times the amount I needed, the smell became alarmingly strong, it smells like men. My thoughts so far are, 'just give it to a man in your life' but also I have the 'they'll be frustrated by the foamy mess too'. I'm a bit stuck on this one so far.
Nuskin Epoch Everglide Shaving Gel
I feel like there is a theme going on in this post concerning, scent and leakage problems. Nonetheless, I will try to continue and use these products and keep you updated on my thoughts. Have you tried any of these skincare products before? Thanks for reading, you can find me here:
