Easy Christmas Tree Nail Art | Step By Step Demo

Throughout December I am going to be posting several different and easy Christmas nail art designs that you can create at home. For today's nail art step by step demonstration, I'll be showing you how to create this elegant Christmas tree design.

What You'll Need:

  • Basecoat,
  • Red shimmery polish - TGB's Ruby Port,
  • Sheer white polish - TGB's Diana,
  • Glittery golden polish - TGB's Snow Queen,
  • One star-shaped glitter,
  • Dotting tool,
  • Detailer or liner brush, and
  • Topcoat

Step One:
For the first step, you'll want to cover the entire nail with basecoat, cure it and then coat the entire nail in Ruby Port. Cure the coloured polish and do another layer so you get a full coverage coat of polish like you see below.

Step Two:
Next, you need to take your liner or detailer brush and with Diana start to draw out an upside-down triangle where the point ends around two-thirds of the way down the nail. Once you've got the perfect outline, cure it and then fill it in with two coats of Diana and cure again.

Step Three:
Now that you've got the base of the Christmas tree down you'll want to then go in with Snow Queen on top and cure it. It's a personal preference if you want one or two coats of this colour on top of Diana, dependant on whether you want a super glittery tree or not.

Step Four:
Once you are happy with your tree, you'll want to pop your dotting tool into a little bit of basecoat and dot that down at the point of the tree. Don't cure this just yet. With your dotting tool still to hand, carefully pick up a star glitter of your choice and place that down on the dot of basecoat you just applied. Cure this for double the amount of a normal cure to ensure the glitter is stuck down.

Step Five:
Your whole design is now complete and the last step you need to do is go in with a good layer of topcoat and cure.

This Christmas tree design is so simplistic yet so elegant. I love the way it looks as it's not your typical Christmas tree nail art, plus it only takes five steps to create it! What are your thoughts on this tree design, do you like it? Are you going to be sticking around to see what other designs I have created for you? Thanks for reading,
