If you've been reading my blog for the past couple of months you'll know that I wrote an Evening Skincare Routine, however, in the mornings, I use completely different products to prepare my skin for the appliance of makeup which is what I'm going to be going through with you today.
To start off the preparation you'll want to use a cleaning mousse, the one which I'm currently using is the Nivea daily essentials refreshing cleansing mousse* which you can find in Boots for £4.99. You use this mousse by massaging it into your face then rinsing with water. I find that it really awakens my skin, leaving it smooth and more glowy than before. Once you've patted your face down with a dry flannel or towel you'll want to move onto toning your skin. Recently I've been in love with my Nivea visage pure&natural cleansing toner* which includes bio argan oil and bio aloe vera which are what produces the softness to your skin as aloe vera is a calming ingredient ultimately reducing the appearance of blemishes or redness. I've noticed the scent is fresh which is lovely in the mornings and it removes any last speckles of dirt easily whilst revitalizing the skin.
Afterwards, you'll want to take a trusty moisturizer and for me it's the Simple kind to skin hydrating light moisturiser and just like it says in its name it's very hydrating which will reduce the amount of dryness on your face. This will also reduce the likeliness of your foundation becoming patchy as you'll want an even, flawless coverage.
To ensure that your makeup has a smooth base to go on top of you'll want to use a primer and today I've chosen the Nivea daily essentials hydration primer*. This will give your skin extra hydration needed for the long day ahead, whilst keeping your makeup on and in place for the whole day. I would say that the product itself is quite thick and creamy which I like and it doesn't dehydrate your skin it just acts as a base layer. I've found that I prefer this to my Maybelline baby skin instant pore eraser because it has a creamier consistency which works as a velcro for your makeup to stick to and you also get far more product for the price you pay which is brilliant.
I've been loving using Nivea skincare products recently, I've noticed a difference in how my skin looks, it's more healthy and glowing which is brilliant, especially if you're wanting more youthful looking skin whilst having the benefit of prolonging your makeup for the duration of the day. All of their products are ever so affordable which is ideal if you're a student like me who can't spend £10+ on a cleanser. I hope this has helped you achieve the perfect steps for you to have a flawless face of makeup which will last you for the majority or all of the day. Thanks for reading.
