Recently I have been loving roaming charity shops to find my next great read. I have picked up two completely different books which I cannot wait to read.
One Of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus
As soon as I read the blurb of this book I instantly thought of Gossip Girl. I'm hoping that this one will really have me thinking and trying to work out who did the murder - if anyone!
Synopsis
Five students go to detention. Only four leave alive.
Yale hopeful Bronwyn has never publicly broken a rule.
Sports star Cooper only knows what he's doing in the baseball diamond.
Bad boy Nate is one misstep away from a life of crime.
Prom queen Addy is holding together the cracks in her perfect life.
And outsider Simon, creator of the notorious gossip app at Bayview High, won't ever talk about any of them again.
He dies 24 hours before he could post their deepest secrets online. Investigators conclude it's no accident. All of them are suspects.
Everyone has secrets, right?
What really matters is how far you'll go to protect them.
The Truth About Melody Browne by Lisa Jewell
Now this one had such an interesting storyline that made me so intrigued into this girl's life. I finished reading the blurb and couldn't help but question whether or not she found the truth out about her life.
Synopsis
Melody Browne can remember nothing before her ninth birthday. Now in her early thirties, Melody lives in the middle of London with her seventeen-year-old son. She hasn't seen her parents since she left home at fifteen, but Melody doesn't mind. She's better off on her own.
And then fragments of her past start to come back. A first, her memories mean nothing to her but slowly, day by day, she begins to piece together the real story of her childhood.
But with every mystery she solves, another one materialises, with every question she answers another appears. And Melody begins to wonder if she'll ever know the truth about her past.
I cannot wait to read them both, watch out for a review or an update on GoodReads as to how I'm getting on with them. Which books have you recently purchased, or have you read any of these? Thanks for reading,
