What I've Been Loving in Summer

During the summer I switched up the products I was using and have found some new favourites. Lockdown and the pandemic really affected this and since then I have near enough stuck to my new routine this includes no foundation, which is something that I have always worn!

Bali Body BB Cream* £25.95
The UK had a heatwave this summer and this BB cream, alongside the other two makeup products I'm mentioning in this blog post, were the only items I used on a day to day basis. I still haven't reverted back to using a foundation, the natural look is my go-to at the moment!

This BB cream is thicker than most but it has a bouncy, creamy type of consistency which blends out really nicely. Once blended you are left with a lovely lightweight base, I always go over with a second helping on my cheeks because I always blush but this helps to diminish that look.

The BB cream also contains SPF 15 and it comes in four different shades, however, the formula adapts and to your skin tone. So where I'm not as tanned as I was, but I'm not as pale as the shade Fair, it oxides slightly to match my skin tone which is perfect and hassle-free.

I am obsessed with it! I wear this to work and it doesn't cake up nor does it leave my skin feeling parched. Love love love!!

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer £7.99
Originally I wasn't too keen on this concealer when I first got it, but I've been using it solely for underneath my eyes and it has been working a treat. It provides a light coverage, which pairs well with the BB cream, it blends seamlessly and brightens up the under-eye area leaving you with a radiant finish. Late last year in 2019, Bourjois announced that they were going to discontinue all of their products in UK so I may have to buy a few more of these whilst stocks last!

Bali Body Highligher Glow Stick* £25.95
I have all three shades of the glow sticks and I have been alternating between two of them depending on how tanned I am and what I was feeling that day. They are all gorgeous! Sunkissed is their deepest, bronzed, golden shade which I have swatched for you below to show the comparison between them all, then there is Moonlit which is a more of a champagne gold, and Rose Gold which of course, is a rosy pink colour.

From using these constantly for the past month plus I've noticed that Moonlit is slightly more glittery, finely milled that is, and liquidy in formula, as opposed to Rose Gold which is more pigmented. But both shades gives gorgeous finishes and I love how natural they look, especially Moonlit it just melts into the skin!

I love applying these on top of my cheekbones and adding a little touch to the end of my nose, the highest points of the face, as they give a beautiful highlighted glow to the skin. When applying these I suggest blending them straight away because they do dry down quite quickly, but they blend lovely on top of the BB cream, they pair perfectly together!

This sponge is possibly one of my favourites. It's a double-ended sponge which has a flat, slanted end and a more curved side with a smaller flat edge and the side I love the most is the slanted flat end. Where the two ends join it allows for the perfect bouncy application of your base products, and I find that you can really get underneath the eye with the slanted end and cover a good amount of surface area without spending minutes blending.

This is another product which I think is in the process of being discontinued as I went to search for it the other day, as mine has a little slit in it from where I've had it for so long, but I couldn't find any! Just My Look seems to have it stocked, so I may have to buy some backups.

I went through a phase of not using any sort of eye cream but since I've been using this one consistently for months now my eye area feels much more nourished and smooth! This balm is super lightweight and creamy and it leaves the undereye area feeling soft and supple. It does claim to reduce puffiness but I don't suffer from that so I can't vouch on that one, but if you use it let me know how it works for combating that!

I had a little look online for this eye balm and it works out to be cheaper if you buy it on Amazon where you get a pack of two and you save £1 as opposed to if you were buying them individually. So once I'm near the end of mine I know where I'll be going to get my replacement!

One product that I've enjoyed using a few times now is this shimmering body oil. Now to me, this is the sort of product that I don't use on a day to day basis but on special occasions or when I'm going out in the evening and I want to feel that bit more glamourous. This body oil is lovely, it blends and absorbs into the skin nicely evening out your skin tone whilst adding a shimmer which when caught in the sun and light looks gorgeous! I find one layer of this gives a natural yet luxe look, but I'm sure you could build it up!

There we have it, those are all of the products I have been loving in Summer. What products did you enjoy using in Summer, did you change up the products you were using due to the pandemic and the heatwave? Thanks for reading,
